History

In 1992, the Lieb family purchased a 12 acre vineyard in Cutchogue, NY, a small rural town on the North Fork of Long Island. They subsequently expanded their holdings to include 85 acres, a custom crush winemaking facility called Premium Wine Group and a quaint tasting room. In 2012, Lieb Cellars was sold to a group of investors who brought in a new team and moved the tasting room to a larger space in a converted barn on the vineyard property.

Today, Lieb Cellars is run by a close-knit group of young, passionate individuals from diverse backgrounds (#teamlieb!) who are united in a single mission: to collaborate with veteran winemaker, Russell Hearn, to produce wines that they love to drink and are proud to pour. Our signature wine style is clean, dry and fruit-forward. The standout among our portfolio is Reserve Pinot Blanc. Made with fruit from 30+ year old vines, our 2013 Reserve Pinot Blanc was named a “Top 12 Wine in America” by WSJWine from the Wall Street Journal.

Lieb wines are made from 100% estate-grown fruit. We farm sustainably and tend to our vines by hand. We believe the best wines are made in the vineyard.

Surrounded by water, farms, charming villages and 60+ vineyards, we’re proud to be part of such a vibrant, beautiful, highly-praised wine region.
